book-fest-gold-boy-crop320OUR FEATURED GUEST SPEAKERS:

International Bestselling Author ANNE PERRY

with acclaimed novelist VICTORIA ZACKHEIM

The High Desert Book Festival will include lectures and book signings by guest authors, booths for our many local published writers, lectures on the writing craft, a small indie publishing house, speakers who are professionals in their field, book-related merchandise for sale, and a children’s book corner with storytelling.

As a nonprofit, we need your support as sponsors, volunteers on our festival committee, and advertisers in our Daily Press newspaper supplement that will appear the week before the festival. You ONLY have one more week, through August 27th, to claim your fifteen minutes of book festival fame and have your name listed as a “FRIEND OF THE FESTIVAL” so the world can see your sponsorship. It is only $25 for an individual name listing and $50 for businesses. It will take your help to make this festival a success! Please check the sponsor/advertising page for more information.

The day’s presentations are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with “The Young Screenwriters Panel.” It is our pleasure to have just added GINI KOCH, author of the fast, fresh and funny Alien (or Katherine “Kitty” Katt) series for DAW Books, the Necropolis Enforcement Files series, and the Martian Alliance Chronicles series. Anne Biggs, author of The Swan Garden will be speaking at noon, and international bestselling author Anne Perry and Victoria Zackheim will close out the festival with their presentations at 3:00.

The FF_2015 Logo_Purp has an annual attendance of approximately 15,000 to 20,000 people where the very large Civic Drive by the Courthouse and City Hall is closed off for the day. There will be an incredible array of vendors, organizations, games, music, food and entertainment. Our inaugural book festival is being held on the grounds of the festival, adjacent to City Hall and the Food Court, just behind the Kids Zone. There is ample parking just behind our location. We look forward to seeing you there!
